Our Veterinary Technologies
We use the latest technology available to run our ER as efficiently as possible. Using available technology to deliver better patient care is important to us, and it should be important to you!
Pet digital x-ray
Our digital x-ray system stores radiographs in “the cloud,” which makes sharing them with your family veterinarian or a board-certified radiologist quick and easy.
Ultrasound has come a long way in recent years, and the information available through an ultrasound scan of a sick pet is astounding. Similar to our digital radiography system, our ultrasound scans are also stored online, for easy sharing with you family veterinarian or expert radiologists.
Pet in-house blood analyzers
Our in-house blood analyzers return quick, accurate results. Whether we need to assess kidney function, levels of anemia, electrolyte status or even tissue oxygen levels, we can have the results in minutes. We have also partnered with most of the primary veterinarians in our area, who have given us access to their online laboratory reports. If your veterinarian is one of those, we can look back and see bloodwork from earlier in the day/week, or even historical data to help guide diagnostic and therapeutic decisions.
Pet EKG monitor
Even the way we monitor your pet is high-tech! After surgery, our at-risk patients are connected to an EKG monitor that allows for remote viewing of the waveform – very similar to the telemetry systems used in human hospitals (allowing a nurse at the desk to monitor the vital signs of all of the patients on that floor).
Pet state-of-the-art endoscopy system
Our new, state-of-the-art endoscopy system gives us an opportunity to remove those pesky foreign objects from the esophagus or stomach of pets that have ingested something inappropriate, avoiding surgery when endoscopy is successful.
Pet electronic medical records
Our electronic medical records are also cloud-based, so that we can access them whenever we (or your family veterinarian) needs them. Our hospitalized patients don’t have paper charts – we use a paperless system, which produces less waste but, more importantly, speeds up our technicians and allows them to spend time caring for your pet, not writing in a chart.
Pet anesthesia monitor
Our anesthesia monitor even communicates with our paperless charting system directly, automatically sending information like heart rate, breathing rate, temperature and blood pressure right to the computer. That means our technician isn’t spending their surgery time writing, they are observing, touching, and monitoring your pet closely.
