We know that veterinary care is expensive, and emergency care is even more so. We do everything we can to make sure that we charge fairly and don’t recommend diagnostics or treatments that our doctors don’t feel are necessary.
One of the benefits of being an independent practice is that we don’t have multiple levels and layers of management (such as “regional medical directors” or “national marketing director”) with big salaries but no revenue production (that’s right, those folks are paid by the high prices in corporate practices), and this helps us keep the cost of care down.
One of the other benefits of being independent is paying doctors for their time and expertise, not paying them on commission like a used car lot. When doctors are paid on commission (they call it “production,” but it’s the same thing), it becomes a little harder to believe that all of the tests are necessary. Not saying that they aren’t… Our doctors are all paid hourly, just like everyone else. Our doctors make the same wage doing surgery that they would make solving a Rubik’s cube at their desk. They make their recommendations based on what is best for your pet, not what is best for them. That’s the way we think it should be.
When your pet is treated as an out-patient, payment is required when services are rendered. We accept cash, credit & debit cards, and CareCredit.
When your pet is hospitalized, we require a deposit of the low end of the estimate to begin treatment.
But it happens – the cost of emergency to remove the sock from the intestines of your beloved Goldendoodle puppy is going to have a major impact on cash flow and making your mortgage payment, and maybe surgery just isn’t feasible, and you have to consider something we call “economic euthanasia.” No one hates that thought as much as veterinarians! Yes, we take CareCredit (just please, please pay this off in full before the end of the “no interest” period, or you will be sorry).
To help make care more affordable/available, we have partnered with Cherry to help preserve your cash flow!
